PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE |
Dear Sadharmik brothers and sisters,
Jai Jinendra!
I wish you all sukh-sata during this auspicious Parva of Navpad Oli. Let us revere the nine supreme entities - Arihants, Siddhas, Acharyas, Upadhyays, Sadhus/Sadhvis, Samyak Darshan, Samyak Gyan, Samyak Charitra, and Samyak Tap. As the Shashwat Oli Parva Pravachan Mala, please listen to Shripal and Mayna Charitra below.
The Sadharmik Fund initiative by JAINA is progressing very well. We thank the generosity of each and every Jain Center in North America for coming together in initiating combined efforts to collect funds with a goal of reaching $500,000.
So far JAINA has received pledges of up to $215,000 to Sadharmik Bhakti Fund. Out of which, 4 generous families each sponsoring $25,000 to Sadharmik Bhakti Fund would grant these donations if and only if we can find a new $100,000 donations from the community during the next 6 days. After this announcement in our last newsletter, we have received $61,000. The clock is ticking. We need $39,000 to meet $100,000 challenge.
All the donations we receive will be sent through reputable NGOs with proper FCRA documentation in compliance with the rules of the Government of India. To donate, please click on Sadharmik Bhakti Fund Button given below.
Muni Shri Praman Sagar Ji Maharaj will again address the unique problems faced by NRIs in ‘Special Shanka Samadhan’ live Webinar #06 on October 29, 2020. Please click the link here to see the details on webinar registration and for

Motivate the youths around you to join the interactive session by
Param Pujya Samyaktaji Mahasatiji on October 25, 2020. The session inspired by Gurudev Namramuni Maharaj Saheb and will focus on "How to Train Your Mind".
Last week, we learned about Shrimad Rajchandrajis birth, childhood, and how he was drawn towards Jainism. Today, we will learn about Shrimad Rajchandraji’s family, the power of Avadhaan, and Writings.
If you got writing skills, here’s an opportunity for you to write for the February 2021 Jain Digest issue. See details below.
If you haven’t read the COVID-19 experiences of the Jain community, Jain Digest October 2020 issue will connect you with others and give an insight into how as human beings we should stay positive, motivate and be there for each other in tough times.
Sincerely,
Mahesh Wadher

Contemporary Jain Legend: Shrimad Rajchandraji - Part 2
|
He composed his first poem at the age of eight and started writing poems and articles related to social issues for publication in the local newsletters. Despite his
young age, he wrote serious articles on social reform subjects like the need for improving female literacy rates, about child marriages, and the display of wealth
by the rich. He also composed poems with nationalistic zeal.
At a very young age, he had the supernatural ability to foresee what was likely to happen and he helped people by saving them from possible disasters.
By the time he was 18, he had become a very proficient astrologer. He was able to identify books merely by touching them and know the taste of food without tasting
it. Along with developing all these extraordinary abilities, he became very compassionate towards all living beings and a strong promoter of non-violence.
