Education: Chartered Accountant
Occupation: Finance Professional
Throughout my life, I have engaged myself to making a meaningful contribution to Jain society and spreading the teachings of Jainism. I have leveraged modern technology and social media platforms to spread Jain teachings to a global
audience. By creating and sharing informative content, I have connected with individuals from diverse backgrounds, raising interfaith dialogue and promoting the timeless message of Jainism.
In my current role for Jain society, I’m coordinating various festivals including Mahaveer Jayanti, Paryushan (both sects). Besides this, I’m actively involved in other activities/ festivals held at the temple including Open house
by Niagara Folks Arts, Diwali, Holi, Janmashtami etc. Given my academic background of Chartered Accountancy, I’m supporting the temple in accounting, taxation, and other statutory filings.
By actively associating myself in the executive committee of JAINA, I am aiming to achieve:
Spreading the teaching of Jainism by educational initiatives like organizing workshops, seminars, and lectures on Jainism, both within the Jain community and beyond.
Another way would be charitable activities, running free medical camps, providing food and other basic needs to the needy, and supporting various social causes.
By actively engaging in humanity, I aim to demonstrate the importance of compassion and selflessness, which are integral aspects of Jainism.
In the realm of environmental awareness, I have been supporting sustainable living practices inspired by Jainism's reverence for all forms of life. I have participated in tree-planting campaigns, waste reduction programs, and advocated
for vegetarianism as a means to reduce harm to living beings and the environment.
My hope is that my efforts should not only strengthen the Jain community but also inspire others to embrace the principles of non-violence, truth, and compassion in their own lives, creating a more harmonious and just world to be handed
over to our future generations.

Education : B.Sc. from Mumbai University
Occupation : Self Employed
Goal :
While supporting all the current JAINA activities, I would like to start or strengthen these innovative programs.
Create a volunteer program for our adults: Tutoring American school children of all ages. Our community's greatest asset is the education we possess. A targeted long-term project to selflessly assisting disadvantaged children will give Jains of North
America a distinct identity, prestige and bring positive attention.
Join hands with like-minded organizations like Swaminarayan Sanstha, or Hindu organizations, to create assisted living facilities for our seniors.
Create a mentoring program for newly arriving Jain students from India. We now have relationships with many Jain institutions in India that provide loans and scholarships every year to estimated 800 students coming to North America for higher studies.
We should reach out to them as early as possible and help them join societies in the cities and universities they attend. Connect them to YJA, YJP, Jain Connect, and JAINA. Currently, we are missing out on this opportunity
to expand our base.
Employ innovative technologies to listen to the community's voices. Hold Bi-monthly virtual town hall meetings at various Jain centers.
Expand our matrimonial program "JAIN CONNECT" globally to preserve, protect and propagate our values. JAINS marrying JAINS is very important for our future.
Make JAINA a household name worldwide for Jain Unity and JAINA's education programs like JAB Competitions, the English language unified Pathshala curriculum, Jain E-library, and online Jain education courses.
Vision For JAINA
JAINA should be a service organization for all the Jains of North America from the cradle to the grave. I am a second generation of Jains in America. We are in a different situation than our parents – the first generation of
immigrants who struggled to settle in America. Now I have a college-age son. So, I see the needs of our seniors, adults, youth, and kids. We have successfully managed the first phase of immigrant activities – Settling down,
developing communities, building Temples, Pathshalas, and Jain Centres, etc. Now the time has come to address our senior citizens' needs and find imaginative ways to pass on our precious Jain heritage to our next generation
and beyond.
Today, first-generation immigrants are in their seventies and eighties. We must design programs for their health, safety, and wellness. Assisted living in their communities is the need of the hour.
We all have assured good education to our kids, now we have to develop resources for them in the only language they read and write – English. We have to go beyond pathshala material and rituals. We must provide opportunities for them to learn the fundamentals
of Jain Philosophy, reinforce the Jain way of living and make them proud of their dual Heritage: Indian and Jain heritage.
JAINA is in the best position to achieve all of the above.

Masters in Public Health, Dental Public Health (sub-specialty), Ph D Public Health (Epidemiology).
Post-doctoral training at various institutions that include New York University College of Dentistry, Nassau County Medical Center, Kings Brook Jewish Hospital, University of Medicine and Dentistry New Jersey, New York State Dept.

Renowned authority in his field and, also serves as a consultant to Insurance Companies.
Private practices and Health centers dental/medical programs have experienced a changing care delivery environment during COVID-19. Tele dentistry/medicine is an emerging trend for health centers to provide preventive dental services
and continue care for existing dental/medical patients. Teledentistry/medicine is an emerging trend to help improve access to oral and general health care, improve the dental/medical care delivery system, and lower costs.
Access to Care: Since I am involved in Humanitarian Medical, Dental and Public Health missions and education in USA and Overseas for more than 15 years and have established Child Health Care Program at Bidada Sarvodaya Trust, I
have witnessed that many lack access to dental and medical care due to factors such as cost, uneven provider distribution, inadequate awareness of the importance of oral and overall health. I would like to see workforce retention
and recruitment as the need for access to medical and dental care increases the demand for quality providers committed to caring for under-served patients is growing as well. We should be able to expand access to oral and medical
care in safe, quality and cost-effective ways.

Jain community, I am able to devote appropriate time, family support, resources and focus deserved for this position.
While supporting all the current JAINA activities, I would like to start or strengthen these innovative programs.
Create a volunteer program for our adults: Tutoring American school children of all ages. Our community's greatest asset is the education we possess. A targeted long-term project to selflessly assisting disadvantaged children will
give Jains of North America a distinct identity, prestige and bring positive attention.
Join hands with like-minded organizations like Swaminarayan Sanstha, or Hindu organizations, to create assisted living facilities for our seniors.
Create a mentoring program for newly arriving Jain students from India. We now have relationships with many Jain institutions in India that provide loans and scholarships every year to estimated 800 students coming to North America
for higher studies. We should reach out to them as early as possible and help them join societies in the cities and universities they attend. Connect them to YJA, YJP, Jain Connect, and JAINA. Currently, we are missing out
on this opportunity to expand our base.
JAINA should be a service organization for all the Jains of North America from the cradle to the grave. I am a second generation of Jains in America. We are in a different situation than our parents the first generation of immigrants
who struggled to settle in America. Now I have a college-age son. So, I see the needs of our seniors, adults, youth, and kids. We have successfully managed the first phase of immigrant activities Settling down, developing
communities, building Temples, Pathshalas, and Jain Centres, etc. Now the time has come to address our senior citizens' needs and find imaginative ways to pass on our precious Jain heritage to our next generation and beyond.
Today, first-generation immigrants are in their seventies and eighties. We must design programs for their health, safety, and wellness. Assisted living in their communities is the need of the hour.
We all have assured good education to our kids, now we have to develop resources for them in the only language they read and write English. We have to go beyond pathshala material and rituals. We must provide opportunities for
them to learn the fundamentals of Jain Philosophy, reinforce the Jain way of living and make them proud of their dual Heritage: Indian and Jain heritage.
JAINA is in the best position to achieve all of the above.

Statement
Over the course of my lifetime, I have had the privilege of serving my community to the best of my abilities. I believe that the opportunity to serve the Jain community in a new way (through JAINA) will be the greatest yet. I believe
in past two years EC has accomplished a lot and I was proud to be a contributor in that. We raised fund for Jaina, Calendars and Jive Daya.
In Canada and many parts of the world, there are many small Jain communities who are in need of spreading the message of Lord Mahavira. For example, in Montreal, we have a very small Jain community where only half of the families are
active. We have to come up with ideas to not only interest the elders, but the youth as well. The youths are also in need of financial and moral support and guidance to move forward. Together, we will be able to generate the goals
that we need to achieve in order to develop Jainism across North America.

Experience
I am a JAINA Director from Cherry Hill Jain Center in NJ for 14 years. I have served in various capacities in my Sangh from the very first day - served as Secretary, Trustee and Chairman of the Trustees. In JAINA, I served as chair
of the Pilgrimage Committee for 8 years and led 8 Yatras to Teerthdhams of India serving 500 Yatris from North America. I was Secretary of JAINA for 2 years; First Vice President for two years (2005-2007) and Convener of the 2007
JAINA Convention in NJ. Currently I am serving as President of JAINA.
I am a retired businessman living in Philadelphia. My passion is reading Jain literatur and writing for magazines. I often write articles in JAIN DIGEST like Convention reports, Book reviews etc. In 2005, I wrote a long article for
the 2005 JAINA Convention - 25 Year History of JAINA and in 2007 I followed it up with my vision for JAINA for the next 25 years. JAINA EC has approved my vision as the agenda (Work in progress) for JAINA. That article is available
on our jaina.org website. I plan to continue to work for JAINA to make that vision as reality.
