Padmashri Acharya Chandnaji
Acharya Shri Chandnaji recently
received Padma Shri Award, from the Government of India, for her 50 years of selfless humanitarian service. JAINA congratulates her for her achievement, and honoured to be associated
with her and Veerayatan for serving the community.
Let us know Tai Maa closely…
What else can you call someone that has given eyesight to hundreds and thousands of people other than a hero? Acharya Shri Chandanaji has done just that. To date, she
has been given Rajgir eye hospital has performed 289,579 free eye surgeries to people so they can see better and is continuing to do so among many other monumental educational goals
she has taken on.
Acharya Shri, as she is known to most, is not your typical hero. 86 years old and cloaked in all white, she is a Jain nun who took her religious vows at a very young
age and has been living by her motto, “compassion in action”, ever since. To her, “obstacles are just milestones” and she somehow always finds a solution to any obstacle she comes
across.

|
|
International Symposium Committee
is honored to invite you to submit an abstract and subsequently a paper on the subject, ‘The Dating of Nirvan of Mahavir Swami’. Following are some of the points over which the world
historians have been discussing for over a hundred years. Can you make a contribution?
- What was the year of Mahavir Nirvana?
- Based on Jain History, Indian History, Jain, Buddhist, and Hindu scriptures?
- Based on the World historians? Based on archeology, inscriptions on the rocks, etc.
Here is the link to important reference papers that may be useful for papers.
- What are the historical proofs that Buddha and Mahavir indeed lived within a span of a few decades of each other?
- What is the proof that Shrut Kevali Bhadrabāhu Ji was contemporary of Chandragupta Maurya?
- Are Bimbisar and Shrenik indeed the same person?
- Why is there a total silence of Buddha in all ancient Jain scriptures?
- What proof is that “Natputta” referenced in Buddhist scriptures is 24th Tirthankar Mahavirswami?
- Did Buddha attempt to follow the path of Parshvanath or Mahavira swami, and then he started his “middle Way Path”?
- Do some scholars place Mahavir around 1200 BC and some of them place around 500 BC? Are there any Jain scriptures, monuments, inscriptions that present unequivocal Jain and Indian
histories based on Jain Sthaviravalis and Pattavalis?
- Are there ancient and original Jain Scriptures that connect Vikram Samvat, Shak Samvat, and Mahavir Nirvan Samvat?
- Are there any astronomy data from the ancient Jain scriptures that can be used to date the Nirvan of Mahavirswami?
More information on the symposium and abstracts.
