Jain Center of Central Ohio celebrated Bhagwan Mahavira Janma Kalyanak on May 4th in a very unique way, where over 35 kids from pathshala participated in the program.

Ever wondered what is Golf Course of Life? Yamaraj and Chitragupt came to Columbus, Ohio to enlighten with some of the aspects of life that we possibly ignore or take it for granted. Jainism has defined 18 sin (Papasthan) that describe the types of acts one can be careful about. These are the acts in which one can get involved knowingly or unknowingly, causing harm to self and/or others. Awareness of these sins helps in making the right choice for the decisions one makes. Making the right choices helps attain eternal peace and lightens the path to salvation.

The kids walked through the 18 sin holes in the golf course of life. They participated in 18 small dramas, depicting each sin, in a real-life scenario, as the audience watched them through the eyes of Chitragupt and Yamaraj. They had about 20 volunteers who had been working hard to put this program together. It was a great way to learn about the 18 sins and the 10 virtues that help overcome the sins. The program ended with distributing trophies to all participants and dinner.
