25-year-old Jain sadhvi abducted, stripped in MP

BHOPAL: A 25-year-old Jain sadhvi was battling for her life days after
two youth stripped and assaulted her at Mow in Madhya Pradesh's Bhind
district.

Reports said the sadhvi was sleeping on her house's terrace when the
two — Pradeep Yadav and Ashok — abducted her on Wednesday. They
took her to Ashok's house, where she was stripped and thrashed with
canes. The two later left her outside her house in an unconscious
condition.

Police did not register a case against them when the sadhvi's father
approached them a day later.

The accused were booked and Ashok was arrested on Friday after the
local Jain community protested.

Naib tehsildar Shubrata Tripathi said the victim was being treated in
Gwalior and had sustained serious injuries.

It was not immediately known what prompted the attack.
