As a Young Jain Professionals (YJP) board member, you will have the opportunity to make a profound difference for the under-served population of the Jain Community. When you serve as a leader for YJP, you will develop a number of skills in project management, fundraising, and community organizing which will support your professional growth. Did we mention you'll get to meet some amazing fellow Jains from across North America, too?
Hear from two previous YJP Board Members...
"When I think of YJP,
I think of an organization that is set towards providing an environment
where like-minded people can gather, discuss, debate and enjoy the
company of those who grew up in a similar environment but were scattered
around the country.
For mid to late twenty-somethings and people in their thirties and forties, other organizations like YJA, JAINA, and local societies have been unable to appeal strongly to this demographic, while relating the issues of the day with their stage in life. A group like YJP, with necessary support from JAINA and YJA, can fill a clear and enduring gap so that the Jain community at large can benefit in the long run as well as the individuals themselves. It is the reason I was involved in the early years of YJP, how it helped me to think and act strategically to advance the principles of Jainism, and to contribute to the larger movement. So efforts for the continuation and evolution of YJP are part of a strategic investment that has strong probability for unique and vital returns over time." |
