Jai Jinendra and Happy Diwali!
A beautiful Jain Temple graced the main entrance of Parliament of World’s Religions
in Salt Lake City last week for the first time in history of the Parliament – with
9,500 attendees. We had record 40 Jain presentations. JAINA booth was visited by
many attendees. JAINA co-sponsored a new Peace Award.
|
Youths are encouraged to visit Ahmedabad – Delhi – Mumbai as part of JAINA’s Youth
Exchange Program this December. JAINA is launching matrimonial ad section in next
Jain Digest to encourage wedding within Jain Community. Details are below.

Parliament of World's Religions
|
|
Parliament of World Religions was first held in 1893 in Chicago. All eastern and
western religions came together to learn about each other. For the first time, Jainism
was brought to the western world through World Parliament by Shri Virchand Raghvjee
Gandhi.
After 100 years the next Parliament was held in Chicago. Since then it has been
held in Cape Town, Barcelona, and Melbourne and now in Salt Lake City. Just like
1893 had the first time Jainism exposed to the Western World, this Parliament too

in North America, in collaboration with JITO, Jain International Trade Organization,
Ahmedabad (Gujarat) is proud to present:
The 2nd phase of Jain
Youth Exchange Program [JYEP].
This year's inaugural JYEP Program will take twelve Jain Youths (ages 18 - 25) from
Canada / USA to India for approximately three weeks trip starting on December 20th
2015 and finishing on January 6, 2016!
The Jain Youth Exchange Program offers exposure to different cultures ranks as one
of the most powerful ways to promote Indian culture and Jain way of life. The Jain
Youth Exchange program intends to provide hundreds of young students with the opportunity
to meet people from other countries and to experience new cultures, planting the
seeds for a lifetime of international understanding.

The 2015-2016
Executive Board is excited to announce that the 2016 YJA Convention will be held
in Los Angeles, California! In order to plan an amazing convention, we need YOUR
help. Applications to become a Convention Committee Co-Chair or Co-Lead for a specific
committee are officially open. We want YOU to apply for Convention Committee and
help plan #YJA16!
