6. JAIN ACADEMIC EDUCATION CONFERENCE AT THE JAINA CONVENTION 2019
Until recently, Jain Dharma was largely unheard of in North America—even within the academic community. To address the misunderstanding it engendered and to share rationally the rich Jain philosophy in western academia, Jain community has taken up the challenge to rectify this situation.

Fortunately, several visionary leaders and donors in India and the Jain diaspora in North America came forward and started working to have a permanent presence of Jain Religion (for teaching and research) at several universities. We have Professorships, Lectureships and Post Doc fellowships) at several prestigious universities.

To share these activities, progress and the plan for the future, two informative and interactive sessions have been planned at the JAINA convention in Los Angeles. Sessions theme: Re-positioning Jainism in North America Through Academia. These sessions are open to all; however, Session 2 on Saturday, July 6th from 1 pm to 4 pm requires pre-registration at the convention website: www.jainaconvention.org

7. JAIN CENTER NEWS
Jain Center of Southern California (JCSC) celebrated its 31st Anniversary from May 16th - May 19th, 2019 with Vidhikar Shri Hiteshbhai Shah, with the recitation of Gautam Swami Mahapuja, 18 Abhishek Anusthan, Sattarbhedi Puja and annual Dhwajarohan followed by Swamivatsalyas.

Cultural Program was performed by celebrated Jain Master Musicians duo Shri Samprati and Prasham Shah from Tapovan.They are young disciples of renowned classical singer Shri Aniket Khandekar.

JCSC’s news logo, designed by KalaCircle artists Mrs. Nirali Shah and Rahulbhai Shah, and rendered by Mrs. Dipali Shah, was unveiled by JCSC President, Dr. Jasvant Modi.

8. 'LIFE GLOBAL' EVENT AT INDIA CULTURAL SOCIETY



Acharya Dr. Lokesh addressed 'Life Global' Event at India Cultural Society Mahatma Gandhi Center New Jersey with Senators, Dy Consulate General of India in NY, Padamshree Dr. Sudhir Parikh, Dr. Jetendra Adhia, JAINA President Gunvant Shah and President & Chairman of Life Global.

Further, Project ‘Life’ invites you along with your family and friends to attend the 3rd Landmark Event of Women Empowerment, a noble cause envisaged by their partner charity Life Global, USA, on June 30 & July 1, 2019 at Sanatan Dharma Temple, Los Angeles under the leadership of Mr. B U Patel, Chairman, a renowned philanthropist and business tycoon. Also, here's an opportunity to contribute to proposed JAINA Primary School in Morbi, India

Project ‘Life’ has brought seven model cricket bats with the autographs of famous Indian cricketers Mr. Jaydev Undadkat. The token price for each bat is $20,000. The amount raised by Life will be treated as a contribution by JAINA towards a school project at village Neknam, Block: Tankara, Dist: Morbi. The name of the school will be JAINA Primary School, while the name of the sponsors will be displayed in a permanent plaque in the school premises for their generous contribution. Thousands of students will be benefited through school.

A 1: By the influence of high Gotra Karma, one is born in high society, gets a good reputation, power, and respect in society. By the influence of low Gotra Karma, one is born in low society, gets blame, contempt, and insult in the society.

A 2: One accumulates High Hotra karma by admiring the meritorious ones, self-criticizing self shortcomings, not feeling arrogant, being the humble attitude towards all. One accumulates Low Gotra Karma by condemning other people, self-praising, fail to appreciate good about others.
