4. JAINA AT 25th ANNIVERSARY OF TAPOVAN SANSKARPITH, AHMEDABAD
Tapovan Sanskarpith, at Ahmedabad, is an academic-cum-spiritual setup for kids to turn out them as a sensitive, understanding, focused, goal-oriented and service-oriented citizens with certain core values implanted in them.

JAINA President, Gunvant Shah attended the Silver Jubilee celebration of Tapovan Sanskarpith on February 16 & 17, 2019. During the two-day celebration, there were lectures from Guru Bhagwants, a Book Launch, Elocution Hunt, Bhakti, Cultural Programs performed by Tapovanis and an Award Ceremony.

Jains Got Talent is one of the highlights of JAINA Convention 2019. It offers you unique opportunity to showcase your talent in front of the entire Jain Community during Jaina Convention in Los Angeles, California from July 4 to July 7, 2019.

Singers, Magicians, Dancers, Comedians, Jugglers…anyone can compete to be the winner.

Register as a solo performer or as a group! Do not miss this wonderful opportunity to share your great talent and performance with our community. Please begin preparations to take part and register for this exciting event…

There are three categories, based on the age:
  • Group 1: 17 years and under;
  • Group 2: 18-34 years;
  • Group 3: 35 years and above.

6. INTEREST-FREE LOANS FROM IAAMJV FOR JAIN STUDENTS
The International Alumni Association of Mahavir Jain Vidyalaya (IAAMJV), a non-profit and tax-exempt organization which was founded in 1991, offers three scholarship programs aimed at helping students pursue higher education:
  1. High school seniors and college undergraduates residing in the USA. Student receives $10,000 interest-free loan spread over three years. Since its inception in 2000, 46 students have been awarded a total of $181,000.
  2. Graduate students from India for Masters or higher studies in the USA. Student receives a one-time interest-free loan of $3000. Since its inception in 1993, 540 students have been awarded a total of $1.19 million.
  3. Undergraduate students residing in India. Students can receive yearly loan scholarship ranges between Rs 15000 - 25000. Since its inception in 1993, 835 students have received a total of Rs.1.02 Crore.

7. JAIN WORKSHOPS IN NORTH CALIFORNIA AND RALEIGH
In the past, JAINA Education Committee and Jain Centers had great success in conducting six workshops in Raleigh, NC (two workshops), Atlanta GA, Washington DC, Dallas TX and Buena Park (near Los Angeles) CA. They bring you two more Jain Workshops on the theme STRIKING A BALANCE- Examing Social, Cultural, and Spiritual environment that we adults and our youth face while growing up in North America.

Jain Workshop #7 will be at Jain Center of Northern California (JCNC) 722 South Main Street, Milpitas, CA 95035 from Friday, March 08, 2019 to Sunday, March 10, 2019.

This is a story from the time of Bhagwan Mahavir. At that time, king Chetak was the ruler of Vaishali and he had a beautiful daughter named Chelna. Once an artist called Bharat painted a picture of Chelna and showed it to king Shrenik (Bimbisar) of Magadh. Charmed by Chelna's beauty, Shrenik fell in love with her. One day Chelna came to the city of Magadh where she saw king Shrenik, and she also fell in love with him. They soon got married.
