Boy Scouts of America, a JAINA scouting initiative would like to update you on the following short-term and long-term plans for the project. For more details please visit http://www.jaina.org/ and click Projects followed by Scouting.
1. Official Approval for the Jain Religion Emblem Awards Program given verbally by Sub-Committee Chair Mr. Wray Johaninning on July 25th, 2011 with a double check pending from Mr. Chip Turner,Chair.
2. Boy Scout of America approved Jain Religion Emblem Award Medal/Pin received.
3. Certificate of Accomplishment, Congratulatory Cover Letter and Jain Religion Emblem Award Medal/Pin sent to recipients.
Also in an effort to bring the best of scouting to the Jain youths we have the following immediate projects to complete:
1. Fine tune the presentation for the JAINA Mangalam TV program to be broadcast during fall 2011.
2. Develop the Boy Scout level Workbooks by early 2012 in order to assist scouts for completing Stages II (green border), III (blue border), and IV (red border). The Stage II Workbook draft has been started from the already approved Cubscout Version.
Long term outline for goals already spoken of with the JAINA administration are:
1. To share the availability of the Program with Scouting families seeking the Jain Emblem --by for example participating in the JAINA Convention 2011 Poster Project and the coming JAINA Mangalam TV program.
2. Have Scouts register on-line at the JAINA Scouting website portal.
3. Encourage Jain Centers to establish scouting units as referred to in the JAINA Scouting website posting.
