JAINA World Community Service (WCS) has launched Hurricane Sandy Victim's Relief Fund. We would like to help needy Jain families as well as schools and health clinics. Our efforts will be channeled through local Jain Centers in New York/New Jersey area. JAINA DOES NOT CHARGE ANY ADMINISTRATIVE COST - 100% OF THE DONATION WILL GO TO RELIEF EFFORTS. World Community Services (WCS) of Federation of Jain Associations in North
America (JAINA) has launched Hurricane Sandy Victim’s Relief Fund” to raise funds
to help the victims of this disaster. Sandy came ashore late Monday, October 29th
2012 as a Category 1 storm with winds of 90 mph, hitting the New York/New Jersey
area. The entire east coast from North Carolina to Main, has suffered a major blow.
Thousands of homes, schools, hospitals, public libraries and businesses have
suffered significant damages due to the raging waters. Many Jain families reside in
these areas, and due to the loss of electricity and phone signals many have not been
able to return to their homes. This is a true national tragedy with losses estimated
at above $25 billion.

JAINA (WCS) would like to help needy Jain families, if any, as well as schools, health
clinics, or public library as soon as we can. Our relief efforts will be channeled
through local Jain Centers in the New York/New Jersey area.

Previously, with your support, we have raised over $200,000 for Tsunami victims,
$750,000 for the Gujarat Earthquake. Jains in North America have always shown our
generosity all over the world, as steadfast believers of "Jiv Daya” and "Ahimsa.
We recognize that many different organizations have started such funds and you
may wonder why you should send your donations through JAINA. Here JAINA’s past
record should help you decide:

• JAINA’s relief operation will be carried out with local Jain centers so that help will reach immediately, rather than getting mired in any type of red tape.
  

• JAINA does not charge any administrative cost to the relief fund. 100% of the donations will go towards relief effort. In fact, JAINA volunteers and partners will add their presence, experience and effort to the fund as it is delivered to the affected area.
  

• Funds collected by JAINA will be spent in a completely non-violent manner keeping in mind the Jain way.
