Dear Jains in North America,
We are pleased to inform you that JAINA will be hosting its
first ever legislative conference, "Celebrating
Non-Violence". on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. On Wednesday, October 7th,
2009, JAINA will have an opportunity to promote 21st-century Ahimsa
diplomatically.
Co-supported by the American Jewish Committee (AJC) and
American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI), this conference
will enable Jains to become more politically active on issues important to our
community.
The conference will take place from 9 am – 2 pm on October
7th with U.S. government officials. In the evening, our members are invited to
attend an exclusive reception to honor the 50th anniversary of Dr.
Martin Luther King's visit to India, hosted by the AJC, AAPI, and the National
Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).
