We regretfully announce the passing of Shri Ajit Benadi, President of the Germany Jain Society. He passed away on June 27, 2023, in Hamburg at the age of eighty-four after battling lung cancer. Shri Ajit Benadi, born into a Digambar Jain family in Karnataka, lived in Germany, making significant contributions to Jain philosophy and Karma theory. He initiated numerous Jain activities, leaving a lasting impact on the Jain community in Germany. Our thoughts and prayers are with his departed soul.

I am delighted to share with you the highlight reel from our recent JAINA Convention 2023. In Dilip V. Shah's series "The Art of Giving Back," he explores the inspiring stories of first-generation Jain immigrants in the US. Arriving between 1965 and 1975 as students, these individuals have achieved financial success and are now using their resources to make a difference in their native places in India.Dilip bhai highlights the philanthropic endeavors of three couples: Arvin bhai & Jaya ben Shah, Dr. Dhiraj bhai and Pratima ben Shah, and Dilip bhai & Ranjan ben Punatar. JAINA Extends Condolences on the Arihant Sharan of Shri Ajit Benadi


JAINA is deeply saddened to know that Shri Ajit Benadi, Germany Jain Society President, left this bodily world on June 27, 2023, in Hamburg at 84 years due to Lung cancer and started his soul's journey for Arihant Sharan. Shri Ajitji was born in Karnataka in a Digambar Jain family and lived most of his life in Germany. He had in-depth knowledge of Jain philosophy and Karma theory and initiated many Jain activities in Germany. We extend our heartfelt condolences to their loved ones and the Jain community in Germany for their loss.

The Art of Giving Back by Dilip V Shah

The first-generation Jain immigrants to the US – those who arrived in the US between 1965 and 1975 as students and remained in the US have done well financially. Among these Jains, there are many who have been using their resources to give back to their native places in India.

In this first article in the series “The Art of Giving Back,” Dilipbhai tells us about three such couples who deserve to be recognized for their philanthropic endeavors. They are: Arvin bhai & Jaya ben Shah, Dr.Dhiraj bhai and Pratima ben Shah, and Dilip bhai & Ranjan ben Punatar.

Workshop on Modern Jain Path to Happiness

During celebration of 25th anniversary of of our temple, we were honored to welcome two special guests from JAINA - Shri Hareh bhai Shah, JAINA president, and past President of JAINA, Shri Dilip bhai V. Shah, during the first two days of this celebration. Nandu bhai and his team from India presented Bhavna & Bhakti geet every day.

Gurudev Shri Chitrabhanuji had a special relation with JSGD. In his loving memory, JSGD members were fortunate to experience the stage play Maitri Bhav (in Gujrati) - a tribute to GurujGuruji on his 100th birth anniversary. This drama had a world premiere (in Hindi) at the JAINA convention 2023.

YJA at JAINA Convention 2023


Over 100 youth gathered at the bi-annual JAINA Convention 2023 in Lakeland, Florida. Sessions were led on topics ranging from entrepreneurship to comparative religions to seva! They also got to enjoy the outdoors, learn hip-hop Bollywood dance, and meet people from all across the nation.

A huge shoutout to the youth activities team for putting on such a fantastic weekend!! We loved seeing new and old faces at JAINA this year!

JAINA absolutely loves how our youth are engaging in spiritually uplifting activities and serving the community. We hope to work with youth more often and support them as they explore their path.
