Dear Sadharmiks,
Jai Jinendra! Pranam!
I am thrilled to invite you to a special video presentation of our recently concluded JAINA Convention. Especially for those who could not make it to this incredible event, please have a look at the highlights to witness the inspiring discussions, innovative ideas, and collaborative efforts that emerged during our convention. Let's join hands and move forward toward a brighter future together!
I am pleased to inform you that during the June-2023 EC Meeting, JAINA EC approved the establishment of two new committees: (1) Administrative Committee and (2) Jain Entrepreneur's Committee. The primary objective of these committees is to develop Standard Operating Procedures and guidelines for JAINA and to facilitate a community-wide initiative that aims to connect job seekers with job referrers, specifically targeting IT professionals. We will soon introduce the chairs of these committees.
In the June 2023 edition of Jain Digest, Rameshbhai Khandhar beautifully expounds on the profound advantages that stem from cultivating an attitude of forgiveness. By liberating ourselves from bitterness and embracing gratitude, we can experience a transformative shift in our lives. This remarkable change is achieved by shifting our perspective from dwelling on 'what went wrong' to recognizing 'the good that can emerge from it'. If you are curious about the potential for personal transformation through forgiveness, I highly recommend reading the entire article by following the link below.
We would also like to share the joyous celebration of the 'Shri Siddhachakra Mahamandal Vidhan' at the Jain Center of British Columbia. Please check the pictures of this 8-day Vidhaan organized at their center.
In addition, I invite you to participate in the “Modern Jain Path to Happiness” workshop, led by Rahul Kapoor and the JAINA Long Range Planning Committee. This workshop will guide you in achieving inner peace, reducing stress, and attaining mental clarity in today's fast-paced world. During this workshop tour, Rahul Kapoor will be visiting five cities: Boston, Atlanta, New Jersey, New York, and Los Angeles. Please see the link to learn more about the workshop and register.
Furthermore, YJA will host the “Navigating College” online seminar on July 12, 2023. This seminar is specifically designed for high school juniors and seniors interested in gaining insights into college life and students seeking ways to become more involved on campus. We encourage you to register for the seminar using the link below.
Thank you for your attention and support.
Yours Sincerely,
Haresh Shah, JAINA President

Introducing Two New JAINA Committees
|
During the June 2023 EC Meeting, EC approved the two new committees - Administrative and Jain Entrepreneur’s Ad-Hoc. These committees are created with the below aims. The Committee Chairs and members are getting finalized.
- Administrative Committee - to create Standard Operating Procedures and guidelines (e.g. periodic reporting requirements or financial guidelines) for members of the EC, Directors, Committee chairs, and members of each committee. It will provide a systematic framework for all operational matters along with transparency and accountability.
- Jain Entreprenuer's Committee - In 2023, layoffs have cost tens of thousands of tech workers to lose their jobs. This time, the workforce reductions have been driven by the biggest names in the tech industry, like Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Yahoo, Meta, and Zoom. This project aims to launch a community-wide effort to try and help these IT professionals and others by connecting job seekers to job referrers and informers.

Transformation through Forgiveness
by Ramesh Khandhar
Enlightened teachers of every faith have exemplified a willingness to let go of anger, resentment, and vengeance toward those who have harmed them. Forgiveness is often defined as an individual, voluntary internal process of letting go of feelings and thoughts of resentment, bitterness, anger, and the need for retribution toward someone who we believe has wronged us, including ourselves.
In this article, Rameshbhai Khandhar explains the benefits of developing an attitude of forgiveness from various viewpoints. He says,
“Forgiveness allows us to let go of bitterness and replace it with gratitude. This kind of transformation is possible only by switching our focus from what went wrong to the good that can come from it. To move forward and manifest what we truly desire, we need to break free of the shackles of the past by letting go and forgiving.”
