Jain Association of Montreal celebrated Parushan/Das Lakshana Parva virtually involving all Jains of Montreal. During the festival, they did various activities and collected donations for the Jiv Daya fund to protect animals.
“The Jain Day of Forgiveness: Interreligious Perspectives on Compassion and Forgiveness” webinar was organized at Claremont School of Theology (CST) on September 11, 2021, under the aegis of the Center for Engaged Compassion.

US President Joe Biden Greets Jain Community
US President Joe
Biden greeted the Jain community on the concluding day of Paryushan and Das Lakshan festivals.
“Jill and I send our best wishes to Jains in the US and around the world who've concluded the festivals of Paryushan and Das Lakshan. In this time for self-reflection and forgiveness, may we all find peace and reconciliation in our lives. Michhami Dukkadam
and Uttam Kshama!” he said it in a Facebook post on Sunday.
Over 150,000 Jains live in the United States, which is the community's largest population outside India.

Jain Association of Montreal
Jain Association of Montreal (JAOM) celebrated Parushan/Das Lakshan Parva virtually involving all Jains of Montreal. During the festival, they did Pratikraman, Paryushan/Das Lakshana celebrations, attended muniji's lectures, talk about Parushan Parva,
shared videos of worldwide celebration, fasting, bhajans, and Michhami Dukkdam to all. etc.
The center has collected donations for the Jiv Daya fund which will be donated to the Canadian Charitable Organization for the protection of animals.
They will celebrate Swamivatsalya day together in Hindu Temple by performing pooja, singing bhajans, lectures, dances, and having prasad together following all Covid protocols. This event will be attended by all Jains of Montreal including young professionals,
children, and adults.

“The Jain Day of
Forgiveness: Interreligious
Perspectives on Compassion and
Forgiveness” ‑ a Claremont
School of Theology (CST) event,
was organized on September 11,
2021, under the aegis of the
Center for Engaged Compassion
at Claremont School of Theology.
As Jain community members
worldwide celebrated Paryushan
Parva, the most sacred Annual
Jain festival, Claremont School of
Theology commemorated The
Jain Day of Forgiveness by tak‑
ing the lead in bringing the Jain
philosophy of forgiveness in
interreligious dialogue. The
event aimed at bringing the tra‑
dition of forgiveness in various
faiths and cultures across the
world on a single platform.
The event was a virtual webi‑
nar that began with Navkar
Mantra by Mrs. Sushama Parekh,
enlightening opening remarks
by Claremont School of
Theologyʼs President, Dr. Jeffrey
Kuan, and blessings by Shree
Mahesh Wadher, President, Federation of Jain Associations
in North America (JAINA). The
featured speakers, Professor
Frank Rogers, Professor Yohana Junker, Professor Lailatul
Fitriyah, and Atmarprit Vidhiji
from Shrimad Rajchandra
Mission Dharampur (SRMD) led the path towards the amalgama‑
tion of various perspectives on
forgiveness and compassion.
Shree Sulekh Jain, Dr. Nitin Shah, and Ms. Nimisha Asthagiri were
among other panelists. Professor
Venu Mehta coordinated the
event.
