Paryushan and Das Lakshana Parva are around the corner. We are glad that this year we will be celebrating the Parva in person at our Centers. But at the same time, we will continue with online scholarly lectures, Samvatsari and Das Lakshana Pratikraman for those who don’t want to travel during the Paryushan/Das Lakshana. Stay tuned for the lectures and Pratikraman schedule.
July 26, 2022, is Gurudev Shri Chitrabhanuji’s 100th birth Anniversary. JAINA will pay homage and celebrate the 100th anniversary by scheduling a lecture in his honor on every July 26. The inaugural lecture will be delivered by Padma Shri Kumarpalbhai Desai on Tuesday July 26 on the Zoom platform. JAINA will also host a tribute on Saturday, the morning of July 30th featuring a mini concert by Bollywood sensation Palak Mucchal and tributes by some of the persons who were close to Gurudev Chitrabhanuji.
Inside June 2022 Jain Digest, Anop Vora writes about the 'Characteristics of a Devotee' where he explains it through the two paths in our spiritual journey – the path of devotion and the path of knowledge. Often devotion is categorized as “old-fashioned”. He explains why true knowledge can be only gained by showing respect and devotion to those who have expounded the deeper meaning of spirituality based upon their knowledge and personal experience and what are the characteristics of such devotees.
