Have you ever seen Japanese mirrors? When you pass by them, suddenly you appear thin, fat, tall, or short. In the Japanese mirrors, you don’t appear the way you are, but bizarre images are reflected in them. In reality, these mirrors reveal nothing about
you, they only speak about themselves. Similarly, to discover our real identity, Gurudevshri Rakehsbhai explains that the cause of all our miseries is the false belief regarding our identity. Thus, we
can understand our real nature from the Enlightened Ones, correct our belief, and come to revel in the infinite bliss of our true Self.
Let us learn two out of five main vows of Limited Nature under the Vows of Householders by Pravin K. Shah of the JAINA Education Committee.
This Paryushan, JAINA brings two of the most inspiring speakers for 2021 Paryushan Parva - Rashtrasant Param Gurudev Shree Namramuni Maharaj Saheb and Shri Deepakbhai Bardoliwala who will give Pravachans in Hindi and Gujarati, respectively. English Pravachans
and Das Lakshana Pravachans updates to follow soon.
Check out YJA’s newest release of Younger Minds to compete in an exciting Sadhana challenge. The applications for the 2021-2022 YJA Executive Board are officially open. Also, their ninth and final video in the Jainism 101 series, Modern Jain History,

Please watch a short video on "माँ का स्थान कोई नहीं ले सकता" by Rahul Kapoor

Discovering the Real Identity
|
|
Gurudevshri Rakeshbhai says the biggest difficulty, the biggest mistake, the biggest sin of the soul, is that it derives its identity through others, from others. Who am I? What am I? This identity is obtained by peeping into the other, using others like
a mirror. Just as when you stand in front of the mirror, you decide how you look based on the reflection you see. Similarly, you derive your identity and determine your personality based
on what opinion or impression others have about you, and not independently. The Enlightened Ones say that this is not how you determine your identity. Identity acquired from others will
be incorrect, uncertain, and inconsistent. While one person says you are very intelligent, the other ridicule you as a complete fool; while one person praises you for being courageous,
another considers you a coward. Who will you believe?

Five Main Vows of Limited Nature (Anuvratas)
|
|
Let’s learn two out of five main Vows of Limited Nature under Vows of Householders by Pravin K. Shah of the JAINA Education Committee.
1. Non-violence Limited Vow (Ahimsa Anuvrat)
In this vow, a person must not intentionally hurt any living being (plants, animals, humans, etc.) or their feeling either by thought, word, or deed, himself, or through others, or by approving such an act committed by somebody else. Intention, in this
case, applies selfish motive, sheer pleasure, and even avoidable negligence.
He may use force, if necessary, in the defense of his country, society, family, life, property, religious institute. His agricultural, industrial, occupational living activities do also involve injury to life, but it should be as minimum as possible,
through carefulness and due precaution.
