YJA Convention Board has passed a resolution to serve only Jain Vegan food at the upcoming 15th YJA Convention, and at all future conventions of the YJA. We applaud YJA’s Advisory Board for their leadership and courage shown in making this historical commitment to serve vegan meals.
On Wednesday, President Joe Biden nominated Arizona attorney Roopali Desai for the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Roopali Desai is the daughter of Jain Center of Greater Phoenix (JCGP) community members, Harshadbhai and Lataben Desai. JAINA congratulates Roopali Desai and wishes the best in her future endeavors.

Let’s Be Great Ahimsa Ambassadors by Ingrid Newkirk
Jain Society of Metropolitan Chicago Center is celebrating their Derasar's 29th anniversary with the 3-day event from June 24-26, 2022. They will hold Dhwaja Ceremony and various pujas including Sattar Bhedi puja. Sattar Bhedi puja is a divinely oriented musical composition. This puja is an experiment for the purification of our minds and is helpful in removing our Sins and Doshas. For hundreds of years, this puja has been performed with raga-ragini in Jain temples. In this puja, Shri Jineshwar Bhagwan is worshipped with 17 different objects.
JAINA is proud to announce that the upcoming YJA Convention Board has passed a resolution to serve only Jain Vegan food (100% plant-based food without dairy products and root vegetables) at the upcoming 15th YJA Convention, and at all future conventions of the YJA. By keeping all dairy-derived ingredients out of their diet, our youth wing has taken this bold step for not only promoting but fully living the ideals of non-violence and compassion for dairy animals, while taking concerted action to address the earth’s urgent environmental crisis.
