Ayuso Guixot, MCCJ, the President of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue has greeted and sent best wishes to the Jain community on the occasion of Mahavir Janma Kalyanak
Diwas this year.
They mentioned the the celebration renews our hearts and homes with serenity and peace. They also believe Christians and Jains, individually, collectively and with other

Do I Need to Give Up Happiness to be Religious?
Pujya Gurudevshri Rakeshbhai
|
Happiness is your true nature. It is your right to
be happy. Religion teaches you how to be happy.
Only if your life is a celebration, full of love and
joy; if you dance with happiness will you be
religious.
Those who lack true understanding however, are
unable to comprehend the essence of religion.
They fail to grasp the simple truth that religion
means to be happy and to spread happiness.
Much misunderstanding prevails regarding
religion.

|
Last week, we learnt 2 out of 9 Tattvas, Jiva, and Ajiva. Let’s learn the next two tattvas, Asrava and Bandha.
Asrava is the cause, which leads to the influx of good and evil karma which leads to the bondage of the soul. Asrava may be described as an attraction in the soul toward

Mithyatva - Ignorance Avirati - Lack of self-restraint Pramada* - Unawareness or unmindfulness Kasaya - Passions like anger, conceit, deceit, and
lust Yoga - Activities of mind, speech, and body
*Some Jain literature mention only four causes of Asrava. They include Pramad in the category of Kasaya
