Life - A Priceless Opportunity -
Pujya Gurudevshri Rakeshbhai
|
You are alive only if you have a higher purpose in life. Gurudevshri Rakeshbhai tells us to bring purpose to life, decide what we want and fulfill that
purpose.
A disciple once asked his Guru, “Am I alive?” The
Guru joyously replied, “Aha! You are indeed fortunate
that this question has occurred to you! Because to an
ignorant person, such a question does not even arise.
He does not even doubt whether he is dead or alive.
He is certain that just because he can breathe, eat,
desire and toil to fulfil his desires, he has to be alive.”.

A Tribute to 19th Century Indian Legend: Shri Virchand Raghavji Gandhi
|
Muni Atmaramji wanted awareness about Jainism to be represented at the Congress of the first-ever World Religious Parliament, Chicago 1893. He trained and deputed
29-year-old, charismatic Virchand Raghavji Gandhi (VRG), who was then a young barrister, the great exponent of Indian culture-religious, a polyglot knowing 14 languages,
secretary of Jain Association of India, Mumbai, and was well-versed in Jainism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity, Western Philosophies, yoga, etc. It’s noteworthy
that at the age of 21, VRG became the first Hon. Secretary of Jain Association of India in 1885. Shri Virchnad Gandhi’s life was full of incidents and events, which
were rare, even in the life of great personage of those times. Read the whole book, A Tribute to 19th Century Indian Legend Shri Virchandhji Raghavji Gandhi, published

Jain Reality or Existence
|
Let’s learn the last two of the Six Universal Substances this week.
Space (Akasa)
Space provides room for all other substances of the universe. Its qualities are as follows:
- Provides room to the soul, matter, medium of motion, and medium of rest
- Pervades everywhere (infinite)
- Supports everything and thus it is self-supported
- Have no form, color, taste, smell, and touch
- Does not perform any active action (inactive)
- Provides accommodation to soul and matter of their actions
- Is one and whole
Space is divided into two parts:
- Lokakas - Where medium of motion and rest substances exist
- Alokakas - The remaining space, which is empty and void
