Surishvar and Samrat Drama

The Vaiyavach Committee of JAINA and Shrut Ratnakar invite you to watch the “Surishvar and Samrat” Drama online on April 30, 2022. Stay tuned for more information.

When the Moguls invaded India, there was anarchy all around, temples were pulled down and masjids were built, and forcing common men to change their religion had become a common phenomenon, the people were disheartened and frustrated. The Saints of India, at that time, inspired, motivated, and strengthened the spirit of people to practice their own religion. Jain Acharya Heer Vijay Suri is one such very prominent name in the history. He protected the religion in difficult times. Acharyaji gave a proper understanding of Jain religion and Non-violence to Samrat Akbar. The time was called Heer-yug to acclaim the accomplishment of Jain Dharma and Non-violence/ Ahimsa. A monologue describing the glory of Heer-yug is “Surishvar and Samrat”. It is the victory of Ahimsa over cruelty. Through this monologue, Samrat Akbar will apprise us with his own thinking and tell us about the change and historical incidents that have resulted in his life because of Acharya Heer Vijay Suri and his disciples. The monologue will be presented by Shri Ashok Rohit in Hindi.

Shrut Ratnakar is working for propagating knowledge of Jain Dharma by teaching Jain Granths for the last 22 years. It is developing a Study-center for our Sadhus and Sadhvis (ADHYAN KENDRA) near Shankheshvar Tirth. You can also co-operate in its development.

Inside February 2022 Jain Digest

A Cycle of Compassion and Kindness by Deven Pravin Shah

We all can experience that compassion and kindness does a lot of good for humanity. However, we see, hear, and read news about wars, violence, hatred every day. In this article, Deven Shah explores why this might be happening. He thinks that the scarcity mindset disconnects us from the universal abundance around us. He provides some ideas to make changes in our mindset. Deven shows us the connection between how we feel about ourselves and our actions of compassion and kindness.

Deven Shah says, “When I think I have something meaningful to create, I am eager to contribute. When I am comfortable allowing my emotions to dissolve in my spacious awareness, I am willing to understand and empathize with others.”

Ukraine Relief Fund

As a horrific example of inhumanity manifests before our eyes in Ukraine. News reports on TV, internet, and social media have provided us detailed pictures of death, destruction, and misery visited upon the innocent citizens of Ukraine. Millions have fled their homeland and sought in the neighboring country of Poland. Countless lives have been upended and international community is asked to come to their aid. JAINA is responding within its capacity to join the millions of people who are outraged, yet active in meeting the many needs of the affected population.

Accordingly, JAINA World Community Service (WCS) is launching a Ukraine Relief Fund drive to help the victims of this war. JAINA does not charge any administrative fee to the relief fund. 100% of the donations will go towards relief effort. In fact, JAINA volunteers and partners will volunteer their time and experience to the cause.

We request you to send your tax deductible (USA) contribution payable to JAINA, at World Community Services, 2960 Mother Well Court, Oak Hill, VA 20171 or at the link below.
