New Project Plans for Year 2009 and 2010 (List Specific Deliverable or Objective):
1. In the olden days the idea of Jivadaya was limited to animal
shelters. It inspired people to spend their resources for animal sanctuaries
(panjrapols) where animals are protected and taken care for till they die. But
today the story is different. The panjrapoles are over -crowded with animals
andthey do not have enough to eat
or drink. This year we will try to provide funds to those institutions that
need most help
2.Violence
on dumb and mute animals have increased to such great heights that it has
caused moral and mental degradation to human-kind. It is because of this that
the idea of Jivadayahas acquired
a broader meaning of bringing awareness and spreading the message of compassion
and non-violence in the fields of clothing, food, cosmetics, entertainment,
experiments, medicine etc. In the year 2009-2010 we will try to spread this
message through leaflets, dvds, power point presentations, lectures etc. thus
bringing the awareness of the suffering of animals.
Projects/Activities Undertaken in Past 5 years – Please provide project Description, Deliverable & Duration
1.In the year 2005- 2006- 2007 this committee received funds that was
distributed to approximately 26 Panjrapoles in India. The funds were used for
distributing fodder, grass, bird seeds and helping the animal shelter homes
during drought period.
2.In the year 2008 the Jivadaya Committee gave funds to the following
institutions working for the animals and educating people regarding the
Jivadaya awareness. Baroda panjrapoleis one of them that built a shade for the
shelter of animals and named it JAINA- USA Shade.

What Resources Are Requested from JAINA? Please
list specifics below for consideration by the JAINA EC:
1.It would be helpful if Jaina EC can request all the Centers to send
their Jivadaya donations to Jaina rather then sending their donations of
Jivadaya funds directly to the Panjrapoles in India. If it is done through
Jaina it strengthens Jaina and its Committees and the Jivadaya committee can
fulfil its purpose.
