Dear Sadharmiks,
Jai Jinendra! Pranam!

Inside the Jain Digest October 2022 issue, read an article by Shantha Jain, an avid traveler, who witnessed firsthand how global warming has disrupted the ecosystem in the region during her recent expedition to Antarctica. She describes the beauty of Antarctica, tells us how global warming is affecting the landscape and how our collective actions are much required.

Please consider donating your excess Jain books, magazines, and literature to the JAINA Education Committee Jain Books & Literature Recycle project. We will share these books and literature with interested organizations and individuals in the USA and India. Such mindful actions will help us declutter our space, cut down lesser trees to produce new books, save someone’s money from purchasing new books, and help people who want to read them.

Despite multiple requests to Government offices, no action has been taken against those who broke the Charan Paduka of the first Tirthankara Shri Aadinath Bhagavan at Rohishala Taleti and those who spread terror by breaking a CCTV camera pole and a board at Shetrunjay hill near Aadinath Dada Darbar. Around twenty five thousand people joined the assembly and a rally at Palitana in protest last week We request each one of you to join in the revolution by writing emails to the below-mentioned IDs Read the whole report is on Shri Shetrunjay Mahatirth Raksha.

Sparsh Mahotsav invites you to attend the release of the 400th Book written by Padma Bhushan Shri Ratnasundarji Maharaj Saheb from January 15-26, 2023, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Please find the flyer below for more details

Sincerely,

Haresh Shah,
JAINA President

Inside October 2022 Jain Digest

Witnessing the effect of Global Warming in Antarctica by Shantha Jain

Shantha Jain is an avid traveler and loves nature, mountains, and wildlife. On a recent expedition to Antarctica, she witnessed firsthand how global warming has disrupted the ecosystem in the region.

In this article, she describes the beauty of Antarctica along with some breathtaking pictures and tells us how global warming is affecting the landscape. She says, “Unified action is what I am hoping to inspire amongst the next generation by helping spread the word by creating awareness of how our actions will affect our future generations. We are witnessing a huge rise in temperature around the world, and we are also seeing how weather patterns are changing throughout the world. We collectively need to act now and be responsible for our actions. We need to teach the next generation of kids how our actions are going to impact Antarctica and the world.”

Shri Shetrunjay Mahatirth Raksha

Over twenty five thousand Jains joined a rally in Palitana and gave a memorandum to the deputy collector demanding to take action against those who broke the Charan Paduka of the first Tirthankara Shri Aadinath Bhagavan at Rohishala Talati. Strict and immediate actions were also demanded against those who spread terror by breaking a CCTV camera pole and a board at Shetrunjay hill near Aadinath Dada Darbar.

Jain Shwetambar Tapgachchh Maha Sangh Ahmedabad and Mumbai Jain Sangh organized a rally in protest of the incident. Jains from all over India including Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore, Surat, Ahmedabad, and Bhavnagar joined the rally. A press conference was organized about the incident, and it was stated that immediate actions should be taken against those who are responsible for the terror at Shetrunjay Mahatirth.

Despite multiple requests to Government offices, no action has been taken, which has hurt our sentiments. Please join this revolution and send individual Emails in your own words to:

Shree Uttaradhyayana Sutra Aagaam Vaachana

Drumpatrak Adhyayan

Life is Short, Time flies, don’t waste this precious moment. It will be gone in a blink!

The chapter starts with a story about a dew drop, shining like a diamond in the present moment as it reflects the sunlight and the very next instant the wind blows it away, and it ceases to exist. Same way Mahavir Bhagwan says that our lives are like a moment in time. It will pass and it will pass fast like that dew drop. So, in every sloka of this chapter he tries to wake us up, urging to make the best use of the time we have in this human birth.
