JAINA Vidya Mandir Update

JAINA and Veerayatan are excited to announce the plans/details of the proposed Rajagiri School (JAINA Vidya Mandir), and the three wings in the building complex to provide you all with a better perspective of the project. Please check the Ground-floor plan and First-floor plan, which will be divided into three wings: 1. Junior wing (Blue), 2 Senior wing (Red), 3. Administrative Wing (Green). Here’s the cost break-up for each wing.

In the first phase, the Junior and the Administrative wings along with the infrastructure development have been planned for practical reasons. The construction of the Senior wing will follow eventually. Ideally, some of the foundation work should be done together with the Junior wing because once the school becomes operational (due to young children studying and their safety issues) it will be a challenge to carry on the foundation work or the other civil work due the fact that the buildings will be adjacent to each other. A better way to phase out the cost will be to finish the complete structural work and thereafter undertake the internal finishes and interiors in the later phase. The break up of cost then will be about 60 to 65% in the first phase and 35 to 40% in the second phase.

Also note, that the estimates are based on the current cost of the materials and labor and the complete project will be finished in about a 30 to 36 months time frame. Due to the inflation around the world which has not spared India, the cost of construction is increasing rapidly, and we will have to work with contingency for cost escalation. All the detailed drawings together with structural details are ready and Veerayatan will start the construction quickly after the project cost and funding are approved.
