Peaceful Resolution of Religious Pratimas

Our efforts to get LiveNation to remove sacred Pratimas from various Foundation Room locations have been extremely successful.

On June 30th the CEO of the LiveNation issued this statement: “The Foundation Room’s two-decade tradition of providing communities with space to come together has always been focused on promoting unity, peace, and harmony – which is more important now to the world than ever. In this spirit, we reached out to the coalition last week to discuss and mutually understand how we can best work together for the common good. We deeply apologize and immediately removed the statue Mahavira from all of our venues. We are reassessing the presence of all deities in our venues and engaging with the coalition and other religious experts to advise on the next steps, including removal, relocation, or other appropriate actions. We have always strived to promote dialogue to bring us closer together and are committed to this sentiment moving forward.”

These Pratimas have been in these nightclubs for the past 20 years and the world became aware of the disrespectful treatment of them last month around June 20. JAINA and various other Hindu and interfaith organizations wrote protestation letters and that has produced desired results.

LiveNation has apologized and committed to rectifying the situation. All of their business and nightclubs are closed at this time due to the Coronavirus pandemic and they have asked us to be patient with them as they resolve the issue amicably.

In view of the ongoing discussions with LiveNation, JAINA urges all the members to not write or sign any petitions against the LiveNation. As Jains, we have to forgive, forget, and move forward.
