June 2023 Jain Digest

Choose Love, Not Hate by Khushi Patel
It is often said that tragedy and grief often translate into frustration and hate. But is it truly universally applicable to all the situations? In this article, Khushi Patel tells us about a mother, who chose Love instead of Hate and gave birth to a beautiful movement, even in the wake of a heartbreaking tragedy.
Learn about the Jesse Lewis Choose Love Movement founded by Scarlett Lewis, the mother of Jesse Lewis, a six-year-old victim of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, in 2012. Inspired by Scarlett’s ability to forgive and choose love, Khushi explores how we all can do the same and spiritually uplift ourselves and others. She says,
“Through compassion and kindness, we can imbibe the qualities of a loving nature within ourselves and make the world a better place.”
