JAINA Jain Population Survey
JAINA has formed an official “JAINA - Jain Population Survey Committee” to survey Jain population in North America. The estimate for Jain Population varies from 80,000 to 150,000 in North America. The JAINA (official) Survey will be limited in scope to reflect the nature of our households in numbers for our vibrant Jain Population enabling us in predicting and providing needs and services for our Community.
This official JAINA survey is different in scope and utility from other surveys in circulation:
- It is only a single page survey.
- It is a survey of our Jain Population requesting basic information for our Jain families and to determine in part if one would like to receive: JAINA Calendar, messages from JAINA President, Newsletters, YJA or other JAINA Communications with relevant Community news for Jain event and programs.
- The information collected by JAINA has never been compromised and will not be shared with any other organization.
You are kindly requested to please take official JAINA 1 page survey. This will only take few minutes to fill and share it with your friends and family to help us in serving our Jain Communities.

Jainism Gyan Shibir by Dr. Bipin Doshi

The Jain Society of Metropolitan Chicago invites you to Jainism Gyan Shibir (workshop) from June 3-5, 2022 conducted by Dr. Bipin Doshi.
The workshop will take Jainism beyond being just a religious identification for people. It will discuss the fundamentals, which are easily applied in our daily life. The workshop uses the interactive method of Learning and Communication, which needs debates, discussions, and open-mindedness. The workshop is not a lecture format where the audience has very little input in terms of participation and discussion.
Please register for the Jainism Workshop before Sunday, May 29th. Here’s the Workshop schedule. The registration fee includes breakfast, lunch and dinner and fee is $25 for the entire shibir.
Dr Bipinbhai Doshi is a Jain philosopher, has guided more than 6,000 students and is a resource person for Ph.D. and Research students on Jainism. He is a founder of the Jain Chair at Mumbai University. He has authored many books including ‘Gandhi before Gandhi’. He has been a story writer, presenter, and researcher on ancient Jain characters like Guru Gautam, Seth Motisha, Veer Bhamasha, Champa Shravika, Raja Kumarpal etc. He is Vice President of Veerayatan.

YJA Update
The YJA team is excited to extend their Match Week program by another week, until 5/15! This time, with the generous support of the Jainism education platform Arihanta Academy. After having to cancel YJA 2020 Convention due to the pandemic, the team is excited to host 775+ attendees, 60+ speakers, and 100+ volunteers in person for their grandest, but most expensive convention yet, this July 4th weekend in Dallas, Texas. With COVID-19, inflation, and supply chain constraints, costs this year have gone up by 20% across the board. In the past, generous donations have kept the Conventions accessible for youth members but this year they need more support than ever before. Every dollar they receive in the next week - up to $17,000, will be doubled by Arihanta Academy and the YJA Board of Trustees. Please find more information on the donation
