The Cerritos College Foundation and Cerritos College look forward to your attendance as we come together to celebrate the establishment of the Bhagavan Kunthunath Endowed Scholar of Jain Thought Leadership at Cerritos College on February 23, 2021
Under Jain Story, read about Acharya Abhayadevsuri who has composed Sanskrit commentaries on 9 of the Jain agamas.
In this crazy world of accumulation, Rahul Kapoor shares a refreshing thought on what to leave behind for your children in your WILL.

Dear Sadharmik Brothers and Sisters,
Inspired by Gurudev Shri Chitrabhanuji and Acharya Shri Sushilmuniji, it was 1981 when we came together as Jains and formed JAINA – an organization that happily binds us all. This year, in the face of all the turbulence that the last year has caused throughout the world, we come together to craft a convention with the theme: “Jainism - Resilient Path to Peace”.
JAINA cordially invites you to the 21st biennial JAINA Convention to be held virtually from July 1st to 6th, 2021. Every two years, the JAINA Convention brings together over 5000 attendees, presenters, spiritual leaders, and other dignitaries from around the world. We welcome Jains and friends of Jains from the USA, Canada, India, Europe, Africa, UAE, Australia, and across the globe.
The Convention will feature a state-of-the-art, user-friendly, and interactive conference platform with many features such as an online Main Hall, 6 Breakout Rooms, 4 Competition Rooms, and an Exhibition Hall.

Understanding Love by Gurudevshri RAKESHBHAI
|
Pujya Gurudevshri Rakeshbhai explains Love – a word that is used to describe one of the most natural human emotions. Yet, this very word is often misconstrued and
abused. Gurudevshri invites us to examine the love that we experience and compare it to that which is defined by the Enlightened Ones True love
Dharma is the epitome of pure love. The world believes that love is possible only between the like-minded. In the case of a Guru-disciple relationship,
there is a categorical difference between the two. The disciple is identified with his body and is a slave of his mind, while the Sadguru is beyond body identification
and has transcended the mind. Although there is such a vast difference between their states of being, love for the Sadguru has the capacity to dissolve all distances.
When two lovers meet, their eyes twinkle, music springs forth and their hearts dance in joy. But this sparkle in their eyes lasts only so long as they
are together; when away from each other, the gleam disappears. However, the lamp that is lit in the disciple’s heart upon meeting the Sadguru does not get extinguished.
The melody does not stop. His whole life becomes a dance.

Jain Story: Acharya Abhayadevsuri
|
Acharya Abhayadevsuri was born in a Vaishya family in 1015 A.D. He was born to Mahidhara Sheth and Dhandevi in the famous city of Dhara of Malavdesha. Once, Shri Jineshwarsuri and Shri Buddhisagarsuri came to Dhara. Having listened to their religious
discourses, he felt an inclination for renunciation. With the permission of his parents, he accepted initiation from Jineshwarsuri. He began his studies of Agama literature
at a very young age and in course of time, he was honored with the title of Acharya.
 It
is said that one night when Acharya Abhayadevsuri was engrossed in meditation, Shasana Devi revealed herself before him and said that the commentaries of two agamas
namely, Acharanga and Sutrakrutanga, were well-preserved but other commentaries were lost and destroyed with the passage of time. The goddess then asked him to make
efforts to remedy that deficiency so as to serve the interests of Shri sangha.
