On January 15, 2023, JAINA India Foundtion organized a memorable event that was attended by JAINA Dignitaries, and 40 different Jain NGOs. The event was very successful where we discussed cooperation between JAINA and NGOs.

JAINA and Shrut Ratnakar are all set for the 2nd International Jain Conference on January 21-22, 2023 in Ahmedabad. The conference is on Forgiveness. Please look at the other events schedule mentioend below.

JAINA petitioned to the Government of India and Jharkhand regarding the unrest in Jharkhand over the preservation of our most sacred Shri Sammed Shikharji Tirth, and apparent inaction in Gujarat against reported encroachments, harassment of pilgrims, illegal activities and vandalization of sacred monuments at Shri Shatrunjay (Palitana) and Shri Girnar Tirths. Please join us in protecting our sacred tirth by sending individual petitions.

Such mindful actions will help us declutter our space, cut down lesser trees to produce new books, save someone’s money from purchasing new books, and help people who want to read them.

JAINA & JIF Event in Mumbai



On January 15, 2023, JAINA India Foundtion (JIF) organized a memorable event that was attended by JAINA President Haresh Shah, Past President Dilip Shah, other JAINA Dignitaries - Rama Gada, Dr. Girish J. Shah, Anil Shah the leaders from 40 Jain NGO’s. The event was started with reciting Namokar Mantra. JIF Chairman Dr. Bipin Doshi, and the event host Dr. Sonal Jayaswal greeted everyone with a welcome speech. During the event, Dr. Bipin Doshi introduced and appreciated all NGOs for their work, JAINA President Haresh Shah and Past President Dilip Shah informed about JAINA and its projects in India, how JIF will make easier to work on current and future JAINA projects like JAB, annual conferences in India and how each of the presented NGOs can help JAINA to serve the community through these projects.

The event was concluded with some soulful religious songs and mantras by Dr. Kummar Chatterjee which was followed by networking over Jain and Vegan lunch. JAINA and JIF is grateful to each one who attended this event and look forward to working together on various projects.

Save Jain Tirths


As many of you know, our struggles to preserve the sanctity of Jain Tirths continue. We need to support our sadharmik brothers and sisters in this fight for justice. It is with this sense of urgency that we are going to send strongly worded letters to the following political leaders:

  • The Prime Minister of India, Hon. Shri Narendrabhai Modi
  • Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Hon. Shri Bhupendra Yadav
  • Chief Minister, State Government of Jharkhand, Hon. Shri Hemant Soren
  • Chief Minister, State Government of Gujarat, Hon. Shri Bhupendra R. Patel
  • Home Minister, State Government of Gujarat, Hon. Shri Harsh Sanghvi

To build momentum and gather more voices, we have also created a petition on Change.org. We want all of our Sangh members to sign this petition and participate in this movement to save our tirths. We will attach the signatures to our letters to further strengthen our message.

Young Adult Scholarship of $3k


In order to promote the awareness of the historic contribution made by Shri Virchand Raghavji Gandhi and other prominent Jains to bring Jain religion to the west, an promote deeper understanding of Jain religion to the youth born in USA and Canada, VRG Committee announces Research and Cultural Immersion grant scholarships.

Please submit your plans with proposed dates, stops and objectives of what you plan to achieve at each stop, the stops at pilgrimage places are highly encouraged. The deadline to submit your plans is January 31, 2023. Please find the detailed guidelines here.

JAINA Telehealth Initiative - Shoutout to Physicians and Dentists


The JAINA Telehealth committee is actively looking out for Physicians and Dentists from the USA and Canada who are excited to join us in working towards improving the community's access to quality healthcare.

As one of the Telehealth pilot projects, the Primary Care Program will allow physicians and Dentists in JAINA providers listing to offer remote patient consults using a secure, low-cost digital connection. Dr. Girish J. Shah - DDS, MPH, Ph. D, is leading this initiative and inviting Physicians and Dentists from USA and Canada to join volunteer and join the team. If you are interested in joining our provider network, please read the details of this initiative and provide the basic information mentioned in the document.

Jain Books & Literature Recycle Project


In 2021, the JAINA Education Committee started Jain Books & Literature Recycle project named “Jain Books Recycle”. Under this project, they collect surplus Jain Books, Literature, magazines, and other printed articles at one location. Then we plan to share it with interested organizations and individuals in the USA first, and then the rest will ship it to India.

The committee received a massive response to the 1st and 2nd parts of the project. Now, started again to receive the new set of your Excess books. Please take advantage of this project to send them your surplus Jain Literature to distribute to those who need it and recycle it appropriately. This project is limited only to the printed Jain Books, magazines, and literature in Good Condition, Readable, Full/entire books, and not torn apart. Please do NOT send any types of Jain Upakarans or religious artifacts.
