JAINA Vaiyavach Committee recently received a Letter of Appreciation from the Managing Trustee of Shree MahimaPrabh Gyan Mandir Trust (MGMT). Before you read the below excerpts from the letter, JAINA wants to take a moment and thank each and everyone who
helped with their generous donation or made any tiny effort in making this project successful.

Hope you liked the JAINA Calendar 2022. The JAINA Calendar Committee works really hard in putting the Calendar together. The Committee is self-sufficient in terms of funding and highly relies on donations from members. Please send your donation to the
link below.
Last month, the Jain Study Center of Northern Carolina went on a unique Jatra to Richmond Deraser as a Sangh to take Darshan laabh & participate in the Snatra Puja. Look at the Jatra photos.
In their article, the JAINA Education Committee addresses a very insightful question on how can we ensure that there is no gap between the purpose of Jainism and the way we practice it in our day-to-day life, and how can we bridge this gap if it occurs.
Sincerely,
Haresh Shah, JAINA President

JAINA Convention 2023 Update
Building upon the
successful 2021 JAINA virtual Convention, and following a JAINA tradition, Bindesh Shah, current First Vice President, and Co-Convener of the 2021 Convention has been appointed as
Convener for the JAINA 2023 Convention.
With that, JAINA Convention 2023 planning has shifted into the next gear. A new Convention Committee with experienced leaders and youth leaders has been appointed to
make this endeavor a shining reality. Being the Convention venue selection a top priority, team has already started site scouting for the in-person 2023 Convention. JAINA along with
local Jain center community leaders have made visits to two promising Convention facilities in Lakeland, FL & Columbus, OH.
There are a lot of expectations from the North America & Global Jain community for an in-person Convention after four years without an in-person engagement especially
after the last two years of COVID fatigue. The Convention team is determined and excited to bring a memorable family Convention in July 2023.
Stay tuned for exciting updates for the 2023 JAINA Convention!

JAINA Vaiyavach Committee recently received a Letter of Appreciation from the one Managing Trustees of Shree MahimaPrabh Gyan Mandir Trust (MGMT). Before you read the below excerpts from the letter, JAINA wants to take a moment and thank each and everyone who helped with their generous donation or made any tiny effort in making this project successful.
Dr. Hasmukh Shah, one of the Managing Trustee of MGMT mentions the history of the Vihardham and is thankful to both organizations for helping them renovate & rejuvenate
two Vihardhams, Sarkhej, and Karambella.
Nemiprabh Mahimaprabhsuri Vihardham was built in the year 2000-2001 on Sarkhej Kalikund Road which is the ideal first location for Sadhuji & Sadhviji going to &
from Ahmedabad to Palitana. It was built with the blessings of Mahimaprabhsuri Acharya Maharaj Saheb and Munishri Vivekvijay Maharaj Saheb. On a prime location, about 25000 sq ft
of land was donated by Gurubhakt Saryuben Pravinbhai Atmarambhai Parivar. The Vihardham had 2 storied Sadhuji Upashraya, 2 storied Sadhviji Upashraya, Kitchen, Hall, Shade & Adishwar
Swami temple was built. Later, Shatrunjaya replica in stone, Rayan Pagla & Parnaghar was added.
After 20 years, buildings were in bad shape. MGMT approached JAINA Vaiyavach committee chairman, Dr. Jasvant Modi for funds. He & the committee members approved both
projects & inspired us for Model Vihardhams. They all took up the challenge and now the work is almost completed at both the Vihardhams. Around 1500/1600 Sadhuji & Sadhviji
can stay in each Vihardhams and similar no of persons accompany them. Please look at the recent photos after the renovation.

Jainism Says…
|
|
JAINA Education committee addresses a very insightful and useful question, How can we ensure that there is no gap between the purpose of Jainism and the way we practice it in our day-to-day life? And how can we bridge this gap if it occurs?
The question itself challenges us to reflect on “being” vs. “doing” and be mindful of who we are becoming in process of all the “doing”. This kind of consciousness helps us in being aware of our internal bhaav (thoughts and intentions) and enables us
to incorporate spirituality in all aspects of life.
Any activity which takes us closer to realizing our own true self is a religious activity and realizing our own true self is our religion. When we understand the purpose of the religion, the core principles of the religion, and then practice religion
through our activities, rituals, and traditions, then there is no gap. And we also end up attaining the spiritual benefits from religion. However, the gap occurs when religion is
practiced without proper understanding or reflection.
The article will first look at the purpose of Jainism, core principles and then talk about the gap. Read the entire article
