Jain Gacchadhipati Turned Centurion
Acharya Shri Daulatsagarsuriji, the Gacchadhipati of Sagar Samuday turned 100 years in September 2020 as per Vikram Samvat. In the past century, he is the third Gacchadipati after Acharya Siddhisuriji and Acharya Bharasuriji to reach the milestone.

Acharya Shri Daulatsagarsuriji’s life is truly inspiring. He was born into a Patel family in Mehsana, Gujarat, India. He came to Ahmedabad at a very young age to seek employment and started working with a Jain family. Jain monks who used to visit the household left a deep impression on him and he decided to follow their path.

Daulatsagarsuriji took Diksha at the age of 14 and ever since he led an exemplary life of compassion and dissemination of knowledge. Acharya is known for his Aagam Mandir in various parts of the state where the Aagam sutras are written on copper plates and attached to the premises of the derasar. Even at this age, the Acharya is relatively healthy and doesn’t need glasses to read.
