Rationale for selecting the 2023 JAINA Convention theme
“Maximize Human Potential-The Jain Way”

I have traversed decades of active life and have had a variety of interactions with people from different ethnic, educational, and financial backgrounds. Based on my study, personal experience, and observation, I have concluded that Jainism has the most to offer to resolve the problems of all humans. Our religion has the treasures of knowledge and wisdom that has the power to awaken, enlighten, and embolden us to unlock our potential to lift us much higher.

Unfortunately, most of us have either not recognized this power; nor do we make the efforts in the correct way. I felt that perhaps by steering the dignitaries and speakers toward the above theme, the convention attendees would alter their perspective, recognize their vast potential, and mold their lives in a better way, going forward. I am very grateful to the Convention Board for accepting this theme.

Anop Vora,
Past JAINA President

Inside June 2022 Jain Digest

I survived without eating anything for 10 days straight! By Ananya Jain

During the Das Lakshan Parva in 2020, Ananya Jain did fasting for all 10 days. His purpose was not to lose weight. It was a spiritual journey to be minimalist — not only with material items but also with essentials like food and thoughts, allowing him to focus on the self. We congratulate him for taking on such a big challenge and completing it successfully.

In this article, Ananya shares his experience with lot of details – not only about what happened externally each day, but also about his internal state and what he learned from it. Ananya says, “Even after a year of going through the spiritual cleansing process, the experiences and learnings derived from it continue to help every day of my life. The learnings continue to be a core part of my newfound personality. I am so thankful that my decision to fast for ten days led me to find inner peace, challenge my comfort zone, and attest to my strong willpower.”
