Jain-Darshan is all about 'How to Live'.
Harmony between self and one's environment is one of the principle
features of Jain-Darshan. "Ahinsa Parmo Dharma” is world known motto of
Jain-darshan. "Live and Let Live” is
world known philosophy of Jain-Darshan. Non-injury (Ahinsa), Non-lying
(Satya), Non-stealing (Achaurya), Non-possession (Aparigrah), Chastity
(Brahmcharya) are 5 Basic-Vows (Anuvrata/Mahavrat) given by Jain-Darshan
and must be followed by all especially Jains.

Philosophy,
Principles, Motto, Vows, every Chapter of Jain-Darshan is about Ahinsa
(Non-Injury or Non-Violence). Ahinsa or Non-violence is a fundamental
part of the Jain -Darshan and is based on love and kindness for all
forms of life.

It has been pointed out in Jain scriptures that
even the thought of evil is as bad as the action resulting in injury.
Jain-Darshan takes Non-Violence to its highest form in Thoughts, Words
and Deeds.

"The killing, which is done through the careless
activity of thought, speech and body, is Violence.” – Tattvarth Sutra by
Acharya Umaswami

In each and every activity of human being (
like breathing) some sort of Hinsa (Injury, Killing…) takes place; as
per Jain-Darshan one should practice ONLY essential (needful) hinsa and
should avoid as hinsa as possible by NOT doing Non-essential acts/deeds.

As per Jain-Darshan 1 drop of water contains 36,450 micro-organisms. In
essential use of Water some sort of killing of n-number of
micro-organisms takes place and Non-essential use of Water causes death
of infinite number of micro-organisms. No ‘Jain’ can do this!

***** Every drop of water counts in-term of importance of water and in-term of Non-Violence too.

Friends! "Ahinsa is disciplined behavior towards every living being”.
How Jain can play holi where too much Non-essential use i.e. wastage of
water n hence too much of hinsa happens. Jain-Darshan takes Non-Violence
to its highest form and participation (Anumodana: Kare-Karave-Bhavana
Bhave) in any kind of hinsa by Mind-Words-Body (Maan-Vachan or Kaay)
should be avoided as a Jain. Playing holi using water or colors or
participating in any such play should be avoided by Jains.

Holi
played by only colors also requires lot of water to clean-up or to
wash-our colors! Also Colors used to play holi causes 'Air-Pollution'
and injury or killing of micro-organism in Air so Please! Do give a
thought if you are planning to play holi with water or colors.

(As per Jain-Darshan one of the causes of "Narak-Gati” (Hell) is:
Non-Essential Use of Water or Using too much of Water or Wastage of
Water!)

Ahinsa Parmo Darma Jain Dharm ki Jai!
Bura n mani Holi n Khelo … Pani Bachao … Ahinsa ka Palan karo!

Jai Jinendra n Uttam Kshama!!!

article written nd shared by Samprada S. Jain...Dhanyawad...
(2013 March 25 Monday)
