JAINA Invites You to Join the 30 Day Compassion Challenge!

Dec. 24, 2013 - Jan. 24, 2014

An Invitation to Explore Compassion

This holiday season, JAINA is launching its first 30 Day Compassion Challenge! From Dec. 24, 2013 to Jan. 24, 2014, we will find new ways to express our respect and empathy for all living beings. With the holidays around the corner, we wanted to offer a way to practice, connect, and share our experiences of compassion and kindness.

Mahavira says, "To kill any living being amounts to killing one self. Compassion to others is compassion to one's own self. Therefore one should avoid violence like poison and thorn (that cause pain).”

When you contemplate compassion, you develop a deeper sense of care and a need to act on it. Many sages and humanitarians would agree that the practice of compassion brings forth not just a positive change in the world around us, but also a transformation of inner self.

What the Compassion Challenge Does

When you register for the Challenge, you join an online community of like-minded people around the world as you contemplate ways to express compassion in your life. We will send you daily e-mails with inspiration and ideas, and you will be invited to a private Facebook group where you can share experiences, read others' stories, and support each other along the way.*

This kicks off powerfully on Christmas Eve! To learn more, please contact Parth Savla at or 510-434-4249.a

Register today and get ready to open your heart and be part of the first 30 Day Compassion Challenge. Together, let’s create ripples of compassion in our communities this holiday season! a
