Yoga & Meditation Camp at the Jain Temple at Bartlett, IL

Jain Society of Chicago recently hosted a Yoga & Meditation Camp. This unique Camp was organized in this summer under the guidance of Honorable Shri Shrutpragya Swamiji at Jain temple facility, Bartlett, IL. Programs included Yoga, mind and body relaxation practices, shram daan, laughing exercises, meditation, discourses, Gaman-Yoga, etc.

Shrutpragya Swamiji is one of the most articulate and charismatic young spiritual leaders of the new generation. To spread his wisdom and message of spirituality and Yoga in community he has founded “Peace of Mind” institution. As Yoga Guru, during the camp, -he focused on various discourses like “How to Handle Anger”, Healthy Lifestyle, Stress Management, Art of Enlightenment, Healthy diet, How to achieve emotional balance, etc.

After registration and discourses and meditation, 1st day evening everyone experienced a deep sleep. Morning started with Yoga, Asanas and Pranayams followed by a healthy breakfast. Interesting discourses were the source of lots of information, followed by mind and body relaxation practices. There were also laughing exercises both days. Many people took advantage of this unique opportunity by taking time out of their busy life. Learned scholars, teachers, youngsters, Jains and non-Jains, attended this camp.

Founded in 1970, the Jain Society of Metropolitan Chicago (JSMC) is a non-profit, tax exempt organization registered in the State of Illinois and provides various educational, religious and community activities in their newly expanded and renovated facility at Bartlett, Illinois.

JSMC committee members and volunteers are highly excited and currently decorating the temple facility and enthusiastically planning for upcoming big annual event of Paryushana from Aug 27-Sept 10, 2008.
