Mobilizing support for those
in need |
 |
|
The year 2005 has burst in with a huge demand on our generosity.
All the Jain Centers in USA and Canada are urged to channel
their Tsunami Relief Fund collection through JAINA so we can
undertake a substantial humanitarian project. JAINA volunteers
in Madras have already started to survey the situation and
they will prepare a need report. The World Community Service
Committee of JAINA will then select a project to fund and
supervise. WCS may also partner with another relief organization.
Donations to the JAINA Tsunami
relief fund can be made on line on www.jaina.org
If
you have any suggestions or comments, or news stories to
contribute, write to me at dilip.v.shah@jaina.org
Sincerely,
Dilip V Shah

Interfaith
News
The interfaith Committee of JAINA is proposing to launch
a "JAINA SPEAKERS FORUM". This much needed forum
will help develop speakers to avail opportunities in the
communities they live in and provide JAIN perspective on
the issues affecting our daily lives. The Interfaith Committee
will work with other committees of JAINA to develop useful
material and links as a resource for the speakers so that
they can present our viewpoints in a simple and respectful
manner. This forum will also help the speakers in networking
toward a common objective of promoting a peaceful and just
society that recognizes the value of each person.
